More and more applications
The pre-selection jury is helping Judith Guez choose the artists for the Art&VR Gallery. It's composed of researchers and specialists in art, VR and XR, and representatives of major events such as Ars Electronica Festival, VRHAM! Festival and VR Arles. This year, more than 60 applications were received for the Art&VR Gallery.
Kristina Maurer is an exhibition producer & developer best known for her exhibitions at the Ars Electronica Center. As a project manager, she develops shows in cooperation with the artistic director, the educational outreach department, and the exhibition designers & architects, produces collaborative exhibitions together with universities and scientific organizations such as the European Space Agency, MIT Media Lab’s Tangible Media Group, and Linz Art University, and works together closely with artists at the nexus of art, science and technology.
Olivier Nannipieri is a professor-researcher at the University of Toulon and a scientific expert at ANSES as part of the group working on the effects of exposure to virtual and augmented reality. Based on a formation in philosophy and a doctorate in information and communication sciences, he conducts work on the impact of immersive devices (virtual and augmented reality) on the relationship between man and his or her questioning, in particular, the nature of our presence in the world, real or virtual.
Artistic Director of VRHAM! Festival
Ulrich Schrauth, born 1979 in Frankfurt/Main, is initiator and artistic director of VRHAM! Virtual Reality & Arts Festival in Hamburg. As head of immersive content at Tristan Theater- und Film GmbH he is also in charge of international artistic projects focusing on digital media. For more than ten years Ulrich Schrauth has been organizing, curating and managing festivals, theatre and music productions, as well as working in public relations and marketing. He was artistic manager at Thalia Theater in Hamburg, artistic production manager of Theater der Welt international festival 2017 and worked for Sydney Festival, among others. Ulrich Schrauth studied performing arts at Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and cultural management at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
Director of VR Arles Festival
Victoire is a virtual reality curator and distributor. From 2010-2011 she was working at Visit Films in New York. From 2011-2017 she was International Sales Manager at mk2 films. In 2017 and 2018 she developed mk2 films & VR and VR Play, two curated platforms dedicated to the distribution of immersive experiences.
In 2019 she joined Fisheye and is currently Managing Director of the VR Arles Festival.
Dr. Judith Guez
Curator and director of Recto VRso
Recto VRso is the result of more than 10 years of research and creations by the artist udith Guez in the field of virtual and mixed reality.
Judith focused her PhD on the exploration of virtual and mixed reality as an artistic medium, around the concepts of illusion, hybridization, wonderment and presence. She exhibits artistic installations mixing the real and the virtual at many places (Ars Electronica, Google Institute, Gaîté Lyrique, 104, CDA Enghien Les Bains, Laval Virtual, Theatres, etc).
